Fall is the New Black

3fdb1de38d5cc85c2357fd67467564d3Is it just me, or is fall a bigger deal this year than last year? Suddenly, it’s everyones FAVORITE season. You literally can’t walk into Trader Joe’s without running into a wall of pumpkin pop tarts, pumpkin scone mix, pumpkin bread mix, pumpkin butter… What happened to plain old pumpkins?

Please don’t misunderstand me; I’m all in. Even if the season is pretty underwhelming in Orange County (the only thing that technically changes is the fall-colored window display at Starbucks) I am glad it’s here! Since it’s officially the first day, this is my obligatory blog post. I plan to light spiced candles, play my music a little moody (Pandora station Mayer Hawthorne if you’re looking), and enjoy the best part of the whole deal- the clothes! I love the new fall lines and am crossing my fingers I can take a trip outside of my perpetual 83-degree-city soon in a new jacket or sweater.

What about you? What’s your favorite part?

Well, my favorite season is still SUMMER!!! And I order nothing PUMPKIN!!! The thing I like best about fall is being a little more covered up. Fall clothes are just more flattering than summer clothes. Now I will say when I lived in Colorado I Loved fall! It was an actual season there. And don’t get me wrong I enjoy so much about fall and totally prefer it to winter but at heart I’m a summer water loving kind of girl.

  3. I’m pretty much cold everywhere I go, so I enjoy fall because it’s an actual excuse to wear sweatshirts and people won’t look at me like I’m crazy :)

Ready for the cooler weather and sweaters and love all things pumpkin EXCEPT the lattes. I like my coffee to taste like coffee. But on the subject of fall and PSLs this is hilarious: http://www.powersofmine.com/an-open-letter-to-people-who-cant-stop-talking-about-pumpkin-spice-lattes/

Hahaha Alecia, I somehow missed the link you posted the first time around. It was hilarious! My favorite part was, “Except the steering wheel is too hot!” Amazing!

  5. I have to confess, I bought myself a very “fallish” top yesterday!
